MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR


TAMIEKA G.

As a Miami native and now an Atlanta resident, I have seen success in both the teaching world and in the exhilarating field of Interior Design. I graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. I moved to GA in 2007 and began teaching art at the elementary school level.
I started grad school a few years after my teaching career began and earned a Masters in Art Education. This valuable teaching experience allows me to strategically teach this course, so that you can all walk away feeling confident that you have everything you need to launch a successful staging business.


MY EXPERIENCE

Since 2009 I have dedicated myself to learning the art of interior design and home staging. Because I am a self-taught designer (meaning no formal education/degree in the field of Interior Design), I’ve had to put in a little extra work to master the skills that are required to be successful in this industry. I read books, I took courses, I did unpaid internships (to learn from other designers), I did extensive research (especially in the home staging field), and I followed and studied the work of other interior designers and home stagers that were killing it in their respective industries.
In the most recent years, I have built my interior design portfolio to include celebrity clientele. The home staging division of my business has landed jobs with award-winning home builders who have contracted me to stage their model homes and spec homes. Both divisions of Gregg Lewis Interiors have each earned 6-fixures annually for the last 4 years. 

BEING IN BUSINESS

From firsthand experience, I’ve discovered that working for yourself and building a business are far more rewarding than working for someone else ever will be. Mainly because your earning potential is not dependent on fiscal budgets or biased employee evaluations.
